Pros and Ams Seek Out World-Famous Sardine Factory on Cannery Row
Jim Nantz inaugurates wine cellar locker at annual celebrity dinner during AT&T Pro-Am week
During a lavish dinner event held in the Sardine Factory wine cellar, Jim Nantz, lead play-by-play announcer for the NFL and CBS, was presented with a bottle of Chateau Julien Bravura by Sardine Factory founders Ted Balestreri and Bert Cutino. The award-winning wine was a gift from Bob and Patty Brower, proprietors of Chateau Julien Winery in Carmel Valley, to inaugurate Nantz's private wine locker in the wine cellar.
Guests of Nantz included Clint Eastwood, Academy Award-winning actor/director, along with his wife and Monterey news anchor Dina Ruiz Eastwood; Phil Mickelson, PGA Tour player and 2007 AT&T Pebble Beach National Pro-Am winner, and his wife Amy; Gary McCord, CBS golf analyst and Champions Tour player; Nick Faldo, CBS sports commentator, captain of the 2008 European Ryder Cup Team, and winner of multiple PGA tournaments; Peter Kostis, CBS sports commentator; Kevin James, actor; Rush Limbaugh, radio host, author and conservative political commentator; Ray Romano, actor; Ian Baker-Finch, CBS sports commentator and winner of multiple PGA tournaments; Eric Close, actor, and his wife Keri; and James E. Rohr, Chairman & CEO of PNC Financial Services Group, and his wife Sharon.
The Sardine Factory hosted Pro-Am favorites throughout the tournament, including Vijay Singh, World Hall of Fame golf superstar, who dined with Balestreri, Chairman and CEO of the Cannery Row Company, and continued his stay on the Row with a suite at the Monterey Plaza Hotel & Spa. Finally, Glenn Frye, member of the legendary Eagles, dined with senior PGA Tour player Craig Stadler.
