Government Relations

Government relations refers to the practice of engaging with government officials, lawmakers, and/or regulatory agencies to influence public policy, regulations, and legislation that affect a particular organization, industry, or cause.

Areas of focus include issue or policy analysis, research and issue management, forum identification, coalition building, grassroots engagement, advocacy, media relations, maintaining relationships with key government officials and staff members, providing strategic counsel on issues, and public affairs campaigns. Success is measured through survey or polling, issue support/dissent and media reporting or commentary.
