PACIFIC GROVE, Calif. - October 29, 2007 - With the opening of several new stores selling first-class art, clothing, and coffee, the American Tin Cannery at the south end of Cannery Row continues to expand its retail and entertainment offerings.

The Nelson Ocean Art Outlet, which opened in April 2007, is a gallery featuring the work of Robert Lyn Nelson, the creator of the modern marine art movement. Nelson Ocean Art sells limited edition prints, giclées, and originals-the same beautiful work seen at other Robert Lyn Nelson galleries, at very special prices available only at the American Tin Cannery location. Nelson is one of the founding trustees of the Monterey Bay National Marine Sanctuary Foundation and a leading conservationist. His work has been honored with exhibitions at the Smithsonian Institute's Museum of Natural History. The public is invited meet the artist in person at an evening reception Saturday, November 10, from 6:00-9:00 PM, and at a special appearance Sunday, November 11, from 12:00-4:00 PM. The Monterey Pendleton Outlet opened its doors in August 2007. The maker of lightweight, luxurious 100% pure virgin wool clothing has been a family-owned business for more than 140 years. Nearly everything at the Monterey Pendleton Outlet is sold at 50% off retail. The store carries men's and women's sweaters, corporate dress wear for women, menswear featuring the famous Pendleton wool shirts, selected sport coats, and Native American-printed vests and jackets. Monterey Bay Espresso opened in October 2007. The café serves espresso drinks, drip coffee, delicious pastries, gelato and sorbet, and features a deck overlooking the beautiful Pacific Ocean and the Monterey Bay Recreational Trail. ### About the American Tin Cannery In 1926, the American Can Company opened its sprawling sardine can production plant a short distance over the Pacific Grove city line.
