Central Coast VNA & Hospice has received a $25,000 grant from the Lauralie and J. Irvine Fund and the Rapa Trust Fund of the Community Foundation for Monterey County to strengthen its clinical workforce through advanced training, hands-on education, and ongoing professional development. Funding will support enhanced evidence-based training, annual clinical skills education in partnership with Hartnell College, and continued support for a Clinical Educator who mentors and prepares nurses and therapists delivering care in patients' homes.

Every day, VNA clinicians make critical decisions that directly impact the health and well-being of patients, often while working independently in patients' homes.  This investment will help ensure those clinicians have the advanced training and resources needed to continue delivering safe, high-quality care throughout Monterey County.

Home health clinicians must rely on their own training, experience, and clinical judgment while caring for patients across diverse community settings. By investing in ongoing education and clinical excellence, this grant strengthens the workforce providing skilled home-based care to more than 4,000 Monterey County residents each year.

"Exceptional patient care begins with exceptional clinical preparation," said Jennifer Sjoblom, Chief Operations Officer of VNA. "We are grateful to the Community Foundation for Monterey County for choosing to invest in the professionals who care for our community every day. This support strengthens our ability to deliver safe, compassionate care wherever our patients call home."

As Central Coast VNA & Hospice celebrates 75 years of serving the community, the organization extends its sincere appreciation to the Community Foundation for Monterey County, the Lauralie and J. Irvine Fund, and the Rapa Trust Fund for their commitment to improving healthcare throughout Monterey County. Their investment will strengthen the clinical workforce that helps thousands of local residents receive high-quality care in the comfort of home.
