Tribute Dinner to Be Held for Mayor Dan Albert

September 15, 2006
MONTEREY, Calif. - September 14, 2006 - Friends and neighbors will pay tribute to Monterey's Mayor, Dan Albert for his years of public service for the City of Monterey. A tribute dinner will be held Friday, November 3, 2006 at the Monterey Conference Center in the Serra Ballroom at 6pm.

The community is invited to join the mayor and others for an evening of great food, fun and entertainment, including music by the Monterey High School Band.

For 37 years Mayor Dan Albert was a teacher and a football coach at Monterey High School. Elected to the City Council in 1979 and mayor in 1986, Dan Albert has held the position of mayor longer than anyone in Monterey's 225 year history. Prior to 1979, he served on the City of Monterey Parks and Recreation Commission.

Tickets for the event are $80.00 per person. A portion of the proceeds will be donated to the renovation of the Monterey High School Athletic Stadium, which will be named for Dan Albert. To RSVP or for additional information, please contact Jim Russo at 831.649.3343 or sruse40@hotmail.com. The deadline to RSVP is Monday, October 16, 2006.
