Restaurant to Share Passion for Fine Wine and Extraordinary Cuisine in Second of Four Dinners

MONTEREY, Calif.-Cannery Row's Sardine Factory Restaurant is presenting its second wine dinner in an exclusive series of four on Wednesday, July 17, 2002. Master Sommelier Frederick Dame, Worldwide President of the Court of Master Sommeliers, will be returning to the Peninsula for the series and exploring some of the world's finest and most interesting wines.

Chef/Owner Bert Cutino and Executive Chef Robert Mancuso will be preparing the cuisine for the wine dinner series with their impeccable talent and creativity. Each brings a wealth of culinary knowledge and skills to the restaurant. In fact, Chef Cutino will be accepting this month the Chairman's Award at the American Academy of Chefs Dinner, part of the Annual American Culinary Federation's National Convention. Chef Mancuso has worked for prominent restaurants and hotels in the United States, and is the recipient of numerous national and international culinary awards. He was recognized for his outstanding talents with membership to the 1996 Culinary Olympic Team USA, which represented 25,000 chefs from the American Culinary Federation.

Each of the dinners will feature a wine theme presented by guest sommeliers from some of the country's finest restaurants and will showcase an extravagant four-course menu designed to complement the wine theme. Larry Stone of the acclaimed Rubicon Restaurant in San Francisco will be the featured Master Sommelier for the upcoming dinner, being held in the elegant Captain's Room.
