The National Restaurant Association Educational Foundation in Partnership with the TJB Leadership Classic Donates $20,000 to the Monterey Peninsula Country Club Morse Foundation Scholarship Fund

The National Restaurant Association Educational Foundation in partnership with the Ted J. Balestreri (TJB) Leadership Classic announced a donation of $20,000 to the Monterey Peninsula Country Club's Morse Foundation Scholarship Fund. The check was presented to General Manager JJ West by Ted Balestreri, Chairman and CEO of the Cannery Row Company and founder of the TJB Leadership Classic. The donation came from proceeds raised at the 30th TJB Leadership Classic held March 1-4, 2023. The event is held annually to raise funds for the National Restaurant Association Educational Foundation which this year raised over $2.4 million.
The Morse Foundation Scholarship Fund was established in 2014 by the Monterey Peninsula Country Club to promote learning and enhance the quality of life for employees through professional development. The foundation provides scholarships to assist eligible Monterey Peninsula Country Club employees and/or their immediate family members who wish to obtain undergraduate/postgraduate college education, attend a certification course, achieve a professional accreditation, or develop a trade skill in pursuit of personal and professional growth.
The TJB Leadership Classic was founded in 1993 by Balestreri to support the work of the National Restaurant Association Educational Foundation and its mission to attract, empower, and advance the next generation of leaders in the restaurant and hospitality industry. The 3-day event includes a golf tournament, played at the Pebble Beach Golf Links, Spyglass Hill Golf Course, and Monterey Peninsula Country Club, and a dinner and live auction. The TJB Leadership Classic draws influential restaurant and corporate leaders from across the United States and over the last 30 years the event has raised nearly $25 million dollars. All proceeds from the annual fundraiser benefit the National Restaurant Association Educational Foundation which is the philanthropic foundation of the National Restaurant Association.
