The Housing Authority of the County of Monterey (HACM) is opening the wait list for the Housing Choice Voucher Program on July 1, 2024.  The wait list is the primary way for families and individuals to have an opportunity to receive a Housing Choice Voucher.  The wait list application process will last two weeks.  Once the wait list application process closes, HACM will run a lottery to place the first 5,000 applicants on the wait list.  Being placed on the wait list does not guarantee applicants will be eligible for the program.  Eligibility will be determined based upon HUD Income Limits (75% of families selected from the wait list must be at 50% of Area Median Income for the family size) at the time of selection from the waiting list.  HACM also determines program eligibility based upon criminal background checks, and previous program compliance.
