Fort Lauderdale, FL – Stephanie Martin, President of College Living Experience (CLE) announced today the appointment of Terri Shermett as the new Director of CLE Fort Lauderdale, Florida.

Shermett has over twenty years of experience in special education and comes to CLE from the Board of Broward County ESE Department.  Prior to joining CLE Terri also worked at The Broward Community School where she was the Adult Basic Education, General Education Development and English Speakers of Other Languages Teacher. Terri utilized adult learning principles in order to increase student achievement.  She developed course materials and assessed student mastery of academic skills and competencies as determined by course outcomes. Additionally, she worked directly with adult learners to become literate and obtain the knowledge and skills necessary for employment, self-sufficiency and independence.  Terri continues to be actively involved in the educational community and sits on many advisory boards.

Terri Shermett earned her Bachelor's of Science in Special Education from Florida International University, along with a Master's of Science in Educational Administration and Leadership from Nova Southeastern University. In addition, Terri currently holds Professional Education Certificates in Educational Leadership, Varying Exceptionalities (K-12) and Specific Learning Disabilities (K-12), all from the state of Florida.
