Tanimura Family Schedules Spreckels Town Meeting and Selects Builder
SALINAS, Calif. - January 14, 2006 - The Tanimura family will meet with residents of Spreckels February 1 to update the community on the progress of new home development and town improvement activities. The family has selected Standard Pacific to develop homes on the 16 acres approved for new housing, and will introduce the builders at the town meeting. A development agreement and sale of the land to Standard Pacific was final Friday.
The Tanimuras' process in choosing a builder included detailed site inspections, and all of the conditions pertaining to development are part of their agreement with Standard Pacific. "Through a careful process, we selected the builder we thought would best deliver the vision we all share for the town of Spreckels and be most committed to the community," said Gary Tanimura.
Although the land is changing ownership, the Tanimuras will stay closely involved in the stages of development and continue to work toward town improvements, such as working with a traffic committee on plans to help alleviate traffic through the town.
The meeting will take place Wednesday, February 1 in the Spreckels Memorial Building.
