Students From California Independent School to Perform West Side Story for Fellow Schools in Hawaii
Pebble Beach, Calif.--The cast, crew and orchestra of the Stevenson School Players' 2003 musical, "West Side Story," are preparing to bring their show to the Hawaiian Islands. These 73 talented students will visit the Islands during their Winter Break from February 23rd through March 6th. Performances are scheduled at fellow independent schools on the islands of Oahu, Maui and Hawaii. Scheduled performances are as follows: Oahu, February 24, 2003, 7 p.m. at Kamehameha School (this performance is free); Hawaii, February 27-March 1, 2003, 7:30pm at Hawaii Preparatory Academy; and Maui, March 4, 2003, 7:30pm at Seabury Hall.
Stevenson School is an independent school located in Pebble Beach; a wooded area of California's Monterey Peninsula and the home of the world-renowned Pebble Beach Golf Course. Stevenson, with a school population divided almost evenly into boarders and day students, is home to young people from 16 countries and 15 states.
Over the years, the Stevenson Players have performed in England, Scotland and throughout Europe. For nearly three decades, the theater troupe has been led by well-known drama instructor Hamish Tyler.
