Stevenson School Senior Jason Steinberg Selected as Westinghouse Competition Semifinalist
PEBBLE BEACH, Calif.-Stevenson School senior Jason Steinberg has been chosen as a semifinalist in the prestigious Siemens Westinghouse Competition in Math, Science and Technology. As a semifinalist, Jason's name was included with all other semifinalists in a full-page ad that ran in USA Today on October 25, 2002. Jason was one of 288 semifinalists chosen from a pool of 1,140 students around the country who submitted their research projects for consideration in the contest.
The Siemens Westinghouse competition promotes excellence by encouraging students to undertake research projects in science, mathematics, engineering, and technology, or in combinations of these disciplines. In a letter to Jason, Siemens chairman and CEO Albert Hoser wrote, "You were nominated as a semifinalist because you are an exceptional student-creative, competitive, and brilliant-one of the future leaders of American science and engineering."
