Stevenson School Celebrates 2003 Commencement

WHAT:
Stevenson School celebrates the graduation of the Class of 2003. As it is Stevenson's 50th anniversary, and in keeping with the themes of tradition and history that are woven into this event, graduation also will see a homecoming for commencement speaker Michael Jackson '68 and classmate and architect Mark Hornberger '68.
Jackson, who lives in Los Angeles, is the vice president for student affairs and an adjunct professor at the University of Southern California. He holds advanced degrees in educational administration from the University of Massachusetts at Amherst and a bachelor's degree from Stanford University.
Hornberger, who lives in San Francisco, is the principal architect of Stevenson's second generation of buildings, including Atwood, Day, Wilson and Silverado halls, as well as the new Rosen Family Student Center. Hornberger met Stevenson's first architect, John Lyon Reid, while a student at Stevenson. Later, while studying at Cornell University, he spent the summers working in Reid's office in San Francisco.
The official opening of the Rosen Family Student Center will take place during the commencement ceremony, which also marks the completion of the school's ambitious five-year, $26.5-million capital campaign.
