Restaurant Pacific Group, LLC's Managing Partners Sabu J.R. Shake and Chris Shake announce an exciting new addition to its extensive portfolio of restaurants is open on Monterey's Fisherman's Wharf.  Scales Seafood & Steaks, Monterey Peninsula's newest restaurant on the wharf, showcases some of the finest cuisine combined with the California Coast's most impressive views.

The 22,000-square foot restaurant designed by Wald, Ruhnke & Dost Architects includes high ceilings with large bay windows that stretch from ceiling to floor to allow for views of the beautiful Monterey Bay National Marine Sanctuary from throughout the restaurant.  The large windows also let in plenty of natural light and the use of programmable lighting controls optimizes energy performance.

The building houses five main operations that cater to a wide range of guests' needs – a seafood and steak restaurant that seats up to 300, a casual dining café & deli with outdoor seating, a fresh fish market called "Scales on the GO", and a gift shop.  Each space has a distinct visual identity.  In addition there is a large formal banquet facility with indoor and outdoor seating that can accommodate up to 150 people.

"Whether you're looking to enjoy lunch or dinner in the restaurant, a casual bite to eat while people watching on the wharf, or a quick grab and go meal, we truly have something for everyone," said Managing Partner J.R. Shake.

The crown jewel is the restaurant's bar, which is designed to reflect the ocean's rich range of blue and grey tones with long vertical scales illuminated by pendant lights above.  The bar lounge has gorgeous harbor and bay views, a wide selection of exotic cocktails, and an extensive list of fine wine from the wine cellar.

"Our bar lounge is the biggest one on Fisherman's Wharf," said Chris Shake.  "Guests can come in and enjoy the boat harbor and also be in a nice comfortable setting that's spacious and fun."   

The menu at Scales features fresh seafood, steaks and pasta dishes.  Menu highlights include a seafood paella, grilled rib-eye steak & lobster tail, parmesan crusted Alaskan halibut, lobster and shrimp cannelloni, and a signature filet mignon.

The restaurant is located at 30 Fisherman's Wharf #1, on the east side of the wharf, in Monterey.  Scales Seafood & Steaks serves lunch and dinner from 10:30 am to 10:00 pm daily and the market and to-go counter are open daily as well.  For more information visit www.scalesmonterey.com
