MONTEREY, Calif. - February 25, 2009 - Jim Nantz, the dynamic host of NFL Today on CBS, hosted a lavish dinner party in the wine cellar of the Sardine Factory on February 13th honoring Nick Faldo, CBS Sports and former PGA Tour Player. COO and Executive Chef Bert Cutino prepared a special menu of English cuisine in honor of Faldo's recent knighthood by Queen Elizabeth of England.

The menu featured appetizers of jumbo gulf prawn and pickled cucumber cocktail with soured Devonshire cream, lobster Shepherd's pie in cognac cream and choice of three entrees including cast iron roasted Scottish salmon fillet with fennel sauce and parsley oil, breast of chicken in white wine with Chardonnay nage and streaky bacon lardoons, and stilton crusted filet mignon of beef with caramelized aromatic vegetables and red wine demi glace, each accompanied by smashed "neeps and tatties" and "mushy peas and carrots". Dessert included traditional sherry trifle sponge cake with fresh fruits and sherry custard.

Among the guests were a variety of golf, television and film stars including legendary Academy Award-winning actor/director Clint Eastwood and his wife Dina, film and television actor Eric Close and his wife Keri, professional golfer Phil Mickelson, Peter Kostis, CBS Sports on-course reporter and co-owner of Kostis McCord Learning Center, Paul Spangler, executive vice president of golf at the Pebble Beach Company with his wife Cyndy, Brandt Snedeker, professional golfer with his wife Mandy, Leslie Anne Wade, senior vice president of communications for CBS Sports, and Australian professional golfer, Ian Baker-Finch.
