Salinas Community Pool Foundation to Participate in Kidfest 2003
MONTEREY, Calif. - The Salinas Community Pool Foundation (SCPF) will participate in this year's Kidfest event on October 4th and 5th at the Monterey County Fairgrounds. They will be giving away free goodies to all those who stop by the booth, along with brochures and donation forms for the organization's capital campaign.
The Salinas Community Pool Foundation in partnership with the City of Salinas, aims to make possible the building of a new municipal aquatic center with the goal of improving quality of life, community health, youth development and the economic vitality of Salinas. SCPF seeks support from local businesses, community leaders and charitable foundations.
"We are thrilled to be participating in Kidfest and have the opportunity to reach out to so many children and members of our community. Through our participation, we hope to raise awareness about the need for a new aquatic center in Salinas," said David Sandys, President of the Salinas Community Pool Foundation. "This is a great way for us to gain support for a great cause."
Kidfest is the largest, free, family event held on the West Coast. The two-day, weekend event is designed especially for families and kids of all ages. Kidfest is a safe, fun, carnival atmosphere where kids can enjoy interactive games, demonstrations and a continuous, live stage show.
