Rotary Club of Monterey Commences 83rd Year of Service to Local Community
In addition to contributing more than $62,000.00 to local charities last year, members of the Rotary Club of Monterey contributed thousands of volunteer hours towards projects such as the RotaCare free clinic in Seaside. In 2005, the Rotary Club of Monterey was selected as the outstanding philanthropic service organization by the local National Philanthropy Day committee for its years of community giving in support of youth, education, healthcare and the arts. They were also recognized for their support in providing gifts to local schools and libraries.
Rotary projects worldwide have focused on the eradication of Polio and providing sources of clean water for third-world countries.
