MIIS to Host Discussion Panel on State of World Economy

Economic and Financial Experts to Address the World’s Financial Crisis for the Local Community

MONTEREY, Calif. - October 21, 2008 - The Monterey Institute of International Studies' International Trade and Commercial Diplomacy Club will host a discussion panel, "From Wall Street to Main Street, Deconstructing the Financial Crisis" to inform local students, residents and business owners about the state of the world economy on Tuesday, October 28, 2008 from 6:00 PM - 8:00 PM at the Irvine Auditorium located within the McCone Building at 499 Pierce Street in Monterey. This event is free.

The discussion panel will feature economic and financial experts from both the policy school and the business school of Monterey Institute, including Dr. Fernando DePaolis, the Assistant Dean of the Graduate School of International Policy Studies at MIIS, Dr. Moyara Ruehsen, Dr. Jason Scorse, Dr. Steve Landry, Dr. David Roberts, and Dr. Ron Schill. The panel will address the financial crisis and take questions from the audience.

MIIS, located in Monterey, California, was founded as a language school in 1955 and became an affiliate of Middlebury College of Middlebury, Vermont in 2005. The campus is located in the heart of historic Monterey, and offers graduate degrees in translation and interpretation, international policy studies, international trade policy, international environmental policy, business administration and language teaching.
