Dona Helm, Monterey's finest massage therapist now offering spa treatments at Marina Resort

MONTEREY, Calif. — The Monterey Peninsula's newest getaway, Marina Dunes Resort has contracted out to local massage therapist Dona Helm, to provide spa and salon services at their location. Facials, massages and body treatments will not only be offered to resort guests, but to the public as well. Marina Dunes Resort's natural and coastal setting acts as the perfect backdrop for relaxation and luxury. The addition of spa services compliments the serene and secluded atmosphere Marina Dunes Resort offers.

Dona Helm is one of the Monterey Peninsulas most popular and sought after massage therapists. A certified as a massage professional dedicated to providing the utmost care and treatment for her client, she attended the acclaimed Monterey Institute of Touch in Carmel, California, became a certified massage practitioner (CMP) in 1993. In 1995 she earned the title of certified massage therapist (CMT). Helm's 640 classroom hours of instruction trained her in sports, chiropractic, soft tissue, pre-natal, Swedish and Shiatsu massage modalities.

After her certification, Helm spent four years as a therapist at Rehabilitation Providers. She also worked for both Portera Chiropractic in Salinas and the Hyatt Regency Hotel in Monterey. Beginning in 1994, she was employed by Pebble Beach Resorts, where she continued to consult several times a week as a therapist and esthetician until October of 2000. Ms. Helm's professional expertise is enhanced by the various bodywork and beauty treatment classes she has taken, in addition to having attended seminars offered by many spa industry leaders. In 1997 she earned a California State license for estheticians and attended the West Coast, East Coast and International Congress of Esthetics conferences. She has also participated in a Pauli of Vienna facials course, a sauna/endermatherapy course, and Sybaritic's Smart Spa Solutions seminar. Helm is a certified member of Associated Bodywork and Massage Professionals.
