MARINA, Calif. - Representatives from Marina Community Partners (MCP), developer of University Villages, will present a $5,000 check to the Monterey Peninsula Unified School District (MPUSD) Foundation to further aide in their endeavors, during a Board meeting this evening.

"This donation recognizes the hard work of the school district administration who faced overwhelming obstacles. They reconfigured schools, balanced the budget and opened the schools on time," said Bob Schaffer, Marina Community Partners, Inc., Director of Community Affairs. Other recent examples of the importance that MCP places on good education are their support of the Los Arboles Middle School librarian fund, the support of MPUSD students, Lacy Clifton and Jennifer Bailey in their recent European trip on behalf of the People to People Student Ambassador program, various D.A.R.E. programs and youth athletics.

University Villages, a partnership between Marina Community Partners and the Marina Redevelopment Agency is planned on the former Fort Ord and is under design as a multiple use, new neighborhood that will complement and establish the City of Marina as the Gateway to the Monterey Peninsula.
