MARINA, Calif.-A Resolution of the Marina Redevelopment Agency was unanimously adopted and accepted by the Marina City Council acting as the Agency Board on May 18, 2004, allowing the University Villages Development Project Master Plan Study Report to move forward with the preparation of a specific plan and development application. University Villages is planned on the former Fort Ord and is under design as a multiple use, new neighborhood that will complement and establish the City of Marina as the Gateway to the Monterey Peninsula. The vision for this new neighborhood is a fully integrated, sustainable, pedestrian friendly place, incorporating residential, employment, shopping, visitor serving, entertainment and recreational opportunities.
