Monterey, Calif. - December 17, 2009 - A local Monterey school, Calvary Christian High School, has announced it has changed its name to become Trinity Christian High School (TCHS). The School held an unveiling celebration last week to announce the new school name, logo and to dedicate its new campus. The scene was adorned with students wearing matching shirts with the new TCHS logo.

Among those who attended the event were Monterey City officials, who asked for TCHS t-shirts, for the council to wear at their next meeting to show their support for the local school.

The new Trinity Christian High School sits at 601 East Franklin Street in Monterey, where a car dealership was once located. Thanks to the belief in the school's vision and a lot of dedication by community members and parents, it has been transformed into an inspirational learning environment that takes a more modern approach to education, putting emphasis on relationships and lifelong learning as they strengthen their relationship with Christ.

Trinity Christian High School is now using its new name, though students graduating in June 2009 will have the Calvary name on their transcripts.

The new Trinity Christian High School (TCHS) is an independent, non-denominational 4-year high school that offers college preparatory classes based on a Christian perspective of the world. Trinity Christian High School was started in 2001 with the blessing of Calvary Chapel Monterey Bay Church, with a vision entrusted to a small group of parents, pastors and educators. The goal was to create a high quality Christian educational alternative for high school students in the Monterey Bay Area.

In addition to the core academic classes, TCHS offers a number of Honors and Electives classes and encourages its students to participate in a wide range of extra-curricular activities, including performing arts, community service, student government and variety of Varsity Sports programs. TCHS is a member of the Association of Christian Schools International (ACSI) and the Coast Athletic League (CAL).
