Local Author to Speak at Chomp’s Stroke Support Group
Carmel Resident Dick Burns to Discuss his Upcoming Memoir Chronicling His Recovery from a Stroke

MONTEREY, Calif. - January 5, 2009 - Written by a 79 year old former television and advertising executive who developed some of the most memorable cultural icons, including the Fruit of the Loom characters and the smile on the PSA airplane, Live or Die: A Stroke of Good Luck is a memoir chronicling Dick Burns' recovery from a stroke he had over 40 years ago, without surgery or the technology of today's medicine. He is scheduled to share his story at the Community Hospital of the Monterey Peninsula's first stroke support group since becoming a nationally certified stroke center.
