PEBBLE BEACH, Calif.-Stevenson School's student run radio station KSPB 91.9 FM has a lot to celebrate this fall. This landmark local station will begin airing regular student broadcasts on Monday, September 15, 2003 from 6-8am. KSPB is now housed in its brand-new, state-of-the-art, all-digital studio in the new Rosen Family Student Center, broadcasting at 1,000 watts and reaching as far away as Gilroy and Santa Cruz. In the coming weeks the station will be expanding its student programming into the afternoon and evening hours Monday-Friday and on the weekends. In addition, KSPB will continue to stream the incredibly popular BBC World Service whenever students are not on the air.

Through the dedication of Stevenson theater arts teacher and KSPB founder, Hamish Tyler, KSPB has been on the air since 1979 and is celebrating its 25^th anniversary this year. Mr. Tyler directs the Stevenson Players, teaches theater, radio and English and runs the radio program. He said the new station has prompted a total redesign of the radio curriculum to reflect the state-of-the-art technology the school now has on hand. The station plans to expand the news and community service offerings on the station throughout the year.
