Hayashi & Wayland Accounting & Consulting, Llp Appoints New Leadership
Warren Wayland to pass on leadership of Hayashi & Wayland to Michael Briley who will become the firm's new Managing Partner on January 1, 2010
SALINAS, CALIF. – November 23, 2009 – In an announcement last week to their staff and clients, the partners at Hayashi and Wayland Accounting & Consulting, LLP stated effective January 1, 2010, Michael Briley will be the new managing partner replacing co-founder Warren Wayland who has led the firm for the past 33 years. Briley brings over 25 years of experience to his role, 21 years with the firm and 10 years as partner.
Hayashi and Wayland was founded by Certified Public Accountants Douglas Hayashi and Warren Wayland in 1976. Under Wayland's leadership, the firm has grown to become one of the premiere professional services firms in Central California with 11 partners and 90 employees, and has expanded its traditional accounting and tax services with several other accounting practices to include a retirement plan services division, and a wealth management division. Hayashi & Wayland now has offices in locations throughout Central California including Carmel, King City, Monterey, Paso Robles and Salinas.

As a Partner at Hayashi and Wayland, Michael T. Briley, C.P.A. has provided client services in the audit and accounting area serving primarily nonprofit, governmental and agricultural clients as well as providing tax and consulting services for individuals and small businesses. He received a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration with a concentration in Accounting from California State University Fresno. Prior to joining Hayashi & Wayland in 1988, he worked as a staff accountant in a local CPA firm and as an assistant controller for a food processing company.

Wayland will continue to be an active member in Hayashi & Wayland serving clients' taxes and related issues, and will also continue to be involved in the various community organizations that he and the firm have supported throughout Carmel, King City, Monterey, Paso Robles and Salinas.
