Santa Cruz, Calif. - November 19, 2009 - Last year, Chaminade's culinary team stunned us all with the detail and creativity of their gingerbread village, and they have done it once again. This year, led by Executive Chef Beverlie Terra, the chefs at Chaminade have created a Whoville Gingerbread Village, bringing to life all the memories and personality of that mean ol' Grinch, his dog Max, Little Suzie Whoville, Mayor Augustus Maywho and the rest of the Whoville gang.

The fantastical creation is the result of eight very talented chefs, 300 pounds of sugar, 20 pounds of fondant, 100 pounds of rice krispies, 50 pounds of marshmallow and limitless imagination. Planning and early construction began in September to complete everything on time. Besides all the Whoville characters, which will be hand molded and painted, the gingerbread village will wow you with the "who" trees, a working train, a number of houses and the landscaping, which too will be hand shaped and molded, all set affront a big snowy mountain.

This is truly a site to see! The Whoville gingerbread village will be on display from November 25th through Christmas Day, and welcomes everyone to come be a kid again. It's free, of course, so let the Whos' bring the joy and excitement of Christmas into your holiday season once again through this stunning work that even the Grinch would be proud to call home.
