Dr. Ray Stewart Honored by the American Academy of Pediatrics
SALINAS, Calif. - November 22, 2004 - The American Academy of Pediatrics (AAP) Section on Pediatric Dentistry presented Dr. Ray Stewart, Central Coast Pediatric Dental Group founder and partner, with the Oral Health Service Award at the recent American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry annual session in San Francisco. Dr. Stewart was recognized for his continued contributions to the oral health of children and for his collaborative efforts with physicians.
The Oral Health Award was designed to recognize an individual who, during the course of their career, has made significant contributions to the advancement of pediatric oral health. In order for the award to be presented, it must first be approved by the AAP Board of Trustees.
"I am honored and humbled by this recognition from the AAP," said Stewart. "I have always felt a responsibility to give back to my colleagues and community in order to advance our profession, as well as the care we give our patients."
The mission of the AAP Section on Pediatric Dentistry is to advocate policies, guidelines and programs that promote optimal oral health and oral health care for children. The AAPD serves and represents its membership in the areas of professional development and governmental and legislative activities. It is a liaison to other health care groups and the public.
The Central Coast Pediatric Dental Group, located in Salinas, is a highly successful team of dental specialists for infants, children and teens.
