Culinary Society Honors Sardine Factory Restaurant Co-Founder
Monterey, Calif. - February 23, 2005 - The Les Amis d'Escoffier Society of Chicago honored the Sardine Factory Restaurant's Co-founder and COO Bert Cutino at its recent annual 2005 "Diner d'Hiver" in Lyon, France. The honor of Les Disciples d'Escoffier, a red sash with a small copper pot, was bestowed on Chef Bert Cutino, Certified Executive Chef, American Academy of Chefs, Conseiller des Professionnels National of the Chaine and Past Chair of the American Academy of Chefs 1995-99.
The induction event took place at the famous l' Abbaye de Collonges au Mont d'Or, owned by renowned culinary icon Chef Paul Bocuse on January 30, 2005. The new inductees were honored for their support and what they have done for the profession in promoting the culinary arts and culinary education, as well as being accomplished chefs in their own right. Dinner at Restaurant Paul Bocuse followed.
The aim of Les Amis d'Escoffier is to bring together members of the culinary profession and loyal friends who appreciate good food and good wine; men and women who believe in the adage "Live and let live"; men and women who place friendship above all else.
