City of Gonzales Police Officer Nathan Cordoba Selected as 2022 Monterey County Peace Officer Association Officer of the Year

On April 27, 2023 the Monterey County Peace Officer Association (MCPOA) held their annual award ceremony to name the 2022 Peace Officer, Firefighter and Support Person of the Year. Gonzales Police Officer Nathan Cordoba was selected as the MCPOA 2022 Peace Officer of the Year.
"Officer Cordoba is Gonzales Police Department's 2022 Officer of the Year, and I was pleased to nominate him for consideration for the MCPOA Officer of the Year award. Officer Cordoba exemplifies bravery, commitment to the profession, commitment to serving others, and service to our community. He is truly deserving of this honor and recognition," said Gonzales Police Chief Keith Wise.
Officer Cordoba has been employed with the Gonzales Police Department since 2019. In addition to all the great work he performed in 2022, Officer Cordoba served the Gonzales Police Department as a Field Training Officer, School Resource Officer, mentor to fellow officers, and Supervising Corporal.
At the MCPOA award ceremony Officer Cordoba received a proclamation from Monterey County Board of Supervisor Luis Alejo in recognition of his outstanding service, and recognition from Senators Laird and Caballero, Assemblymembers Rivas and Addis, and special Congressional recognition presented by Congressman Panetta.
