Folk artist Mary McCaslin to entertain at annual Brilliant Visions event

MONTEREY, Calif. -Folk artist Mary McCaslin will perform at Chartwell School's annual "Brilliant Visions" fundraiser party to be held Saturday, April 20, 2002 at 6:30 p.m. at the Seymour Marine Discovery Center at Long Marine Lab in Santa Cruz. The evening, featuring wine, strolling dinner and a silent auction, is intended to expand community awareness of the issues surrounding dyslexia and learning differences and support the Chartwell School Financial Aid program. Mary McCaslin represents an unbroken link between traditional American folksingers and today's "new folk" singer-songwriters. Known for her songs about the West — its landscape and outlaws — and for her insightful songs about relationships, Mary has influenced countless other performers. For many years before her current solo career, Mary toured with legendary singer Jim Ringer. In addition to McCaslin, the Gary Regina Jazz Duo will perform. Rob Dixon, a successful Chartwell alumnus, will be the evening's guest of honor. Tickets are $50 and can be purchased by contacting Chartwell School (831) 394-3468 or information@chartwell.org.
