Charles Osborne, Author and Grandson of S.F. B Morse, the Founder of Pebble Beach Will Speak About His New Book at Forest Hill in Pacific Grove
Forest Hill is hosting a speaker series and has invited Charles Osborne to speak on Wednesday, March 27 at 3:30pm about his new book Boss, The Story of S.F. B Morse, the Founder of Pebble Beach. This event is FREE and open to residents and the public. RSVP is required, as space is limited.
Samuel Finley Brown Morse was a Pebble Beach icon, commonly known as "The Duke of Del Monte", the "Founder of Pebble Beach" and "Boss". The book Boss, The Story of S.F.B. Morse, the Founder of Pebble Beach chronicles his life which began July 18, 1885 in Newtonville, Massachusetts. It colorfully recounts the history of Morse's early years, his personal and business life, leading up to when he arrived on the Monterey Peninsula in 1915 as the new manager of Pacific Improvement Company's holdings, which at the time included the Hotel Del Monte and Del Monte Golf Course. His vision of land conservation was the basis for the creation of one of the most attractive pieces of real estate in the world.
Osborne will share stories about Morse, his vision for Pebble Beach and its evolution and memories of his grandfather and his impressive life.
