Care Solutions to Participate in the Homecare and Hospice First Tee Open
Award-winning home healthcare agency participates in the first PGA golf tournament
"Working together with the PGA, we hope to dramatically increase positive public awareness of the important of hospice and home care," said Val J. Haiamandaris, President of the National Association for Home Care & Hospice.
"This is a great opportunity because many parents and grandparents are going to the tournament to support their kids, and they're the ones who need to know about home health care. Some people don't realize what services we provide and that they can get those services in the privacy and comfort of their own home," said Gracie Ruiz-Garcia, a Licensed Vocational Nurse with Choice Home Health Care, whose son is a First Tee participant through Creekside Elementary School in Salinas, Calif.
Once or twice a week, students at Creekside Elementary head to a nearby golf course where they learn the fundamentals of golf. "It teaches kids integrity, respect and good sportsmanship," said Ruiz-Garcia. "My daughter can't wait to start the program when she's older," she said.
Margarite Alvarez, CEO of Care Solutions, has been an avid golfer for 25 years and is particularly excited about this tournament, which combines her passion for home health care, her love of golf and her dedication to community service.
"Golf teaches courtesy and encourages a strong sense of personal value and honesty. It's a sport that enables you to play with people of all ages and skill levels. Beginners can play with someone like my husband who's a 5-handicap and still have a good time," said Alvarez.
Care Solutions and its staff will be at the tournament conducting media interviews and is happy to provide answers for those interested in home healthcare or domestic assistance for themselves or loved ones. For more information or to set up an interview, please call Jessica Nicholas at 831-372-2259 or email jnicholas@armanasco.com.
