MONTEREY, Calif. -Cannery Row's 9th annual Christmas Tree Lighting Ceremony, once again, promises to be an unforgettable event. This year's celebration features a 25-foot tree overlooking Monterey Bay and Cannery Row, wonderful musical entertainment and the unveiling of Santa's Holiday Forest, which will be adorned with homemade tree decorations created by local elementary school students. The ceremony will serve as a kick-off for a season full of exciting weekend events on Cannery Row, including carolers, children's petting zoo, SPCA adoption booth, a holiday quintet, children's crafts, and a magnificent ice carving demonstration.

WHAT:

The Monterey Peninsula's Christmas season will officially commence with the lighting of the 25-foot Christmas tree in Steinbeck Plaza. Cannery Row will be transformed into a glowing, enchanted wonderland. Local dignitaries and Cannery Row personalities will be present to welcome the community. Festivities will include a magical appearance by Santa. Complimentary souvenir photos courtesy of Cannery Row Marketing will be available to children who visit with Santa Claus. A Holiday Quintet will be performing festive music. Free surrey bike rides will also be available.
