Cannery Row Tree Lighting Ceremony Brings Enchantment, Holiday Cheer to Steinbeck Plaza
MONTEREY, Calif. - October 31, 2005 - Ocean breezes will replace winter chills at Cannery Row's 11th annual Christmas Tree Lighting Ceremony. Illumination is set for Friday, November 25 at nightfall, with this year's celebration featuring a 25-foot tree overlooking Monterey Bay and Cannery Row. Mesmerizing musical performances and the greatly anticipated appearance of Santa Claus will also usher in the holiday season.

WHAT:
Monterey Peninsula's Christmas season officially commences at 6 p.m. with the wondrous tree lighting in Steinbeck Plaza. The magic will travel through Cannery Row, transforming the historic destination into a glowing, enchanted wonderland. Local dignitaries and Cannery Row personalities will be present to welcome the community. Santa Claus is even going to find time in his bustling schedule to make an appearance. Complimentary souvenir photos with Santa, courtesy of Cannery Row, will be available for children and parents. Holiday music will be performed Russ Guarino's Holiday Quintet and the Joyful Tidings Carolers.
Holiday celebrations continue every weekend until Christmas. Families can visit Santa from 12 p.m. to 4 p.m. on Saturdays and Sundays.
