Cannery Row is the Most Visited Attraction in Monterey County According to Report Released by the Monterey County Convention and Visitors Bureau
The Monterey County Convention and Visitors Bureau (MCCVB) released a marketing intelligence report that summarizes key research managed and compiled by the MCCVB. The marketing intelligence report includes a 2016-2017 mid-year communications effectiveness study and a visitor profile study report along with additional research.
The visitor profile study report shows Cannery Row was the #1 most frequented of all attractions in Monterey County and Old Fisherman's Wharf #2. In addition to Cannery Row and Old Fisherman's Wharf, other top attractions reported amongst visitors were the Monterey Bay Aquarium, state parks/beaches and 17-mile drive. The visitor profile study is a result of survey-based research conducted in 2016 by Destination Analysts, a tourism research and marketing company based in San Francisco. According to the survey, the top three attractions had notable increases from 2015-2016.
The surveys were conducted at Cannery Row, Fisherman's Wharf, Lovers Point, Carmel Plaza, Carmel Valley Village, Pacific Grove, Monterey Marriott, Portola Hotel, the Intercontinental the Clement Monterey, and Monterey Plaza Hotel. In addition to the attractions visited other results in the survey include primary reason for visiting, spending, important factors to a decision regarding a travel destination, activities while visiting, feeder markets and demographic information.
