California American Water to Hold Public Meetings on Coastal Water Project
MONTEREY, Calif. - July 7, 2005 - In conjunction with the filing of its much-anticipated environmental review documents for the Coastal Water Project, California American Water will hold two public meetings seeking community feedback on the project. The Coastal Water Project includes a desalination facility in combination with aquifer storage and recovery systems for the Monterey Peninsula. It is designed to meet the requirements of the State Resources Control Board's Order 95-10, which heavily restricts pumping of the Carmel River. The meetings will be held from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. in the following dates and locations:
