Blue Fin Café and Billiards Hosts Free Grand Reopening Party

New Owners and Previous Managers Join Together to Bring Back Popular Establishment on Cannery Row

MONTEREY, Calif. - August 20, 2009 - The Blue Fin Café and Billiards located at 685 Cannery Row in Monterey has reopened, and the public is invited to its free grand reopening party on Thursday, August 27 at 8 p.m.

The new owners are Tyke Marasigan and his son Marc Marasigan. They bring many years of experience with billiards halls in the Bay Area to Monterey. To recreate the former Blue Fin concept, they hired many of the original staff members, including General Manager Marvin Romero and Bar Manager Orion Quill.

At the reopening celebration, music will be provided by the Tropical Meuse Band beginning at 9 p.m. The party will feature a Tiki Village décor, a limbo contest with prizes, hand-out percussion instruments, and interactive beach music from around the world. Guests are encouraged to wear their Hawaiian shirts. Admission is free.

Free parking is available to Monterey County residents after 4 p.m. at the Cannery Row Garage located at 601 Wave Street. Drivers must show a driver's license as proof of residency.
