Monterey, Calif. - April 21, 2005 - Best-selling author and Fellow at the Hoover Institute at Stanford University, Mr. Dinesh D'Souza, will present a lecture for students and faculty on April 29 at 1:15 p.m. at Santa Catalina School on "Islam vs. the West." His presentation will be enlightening and educational for anyone who is interested in religion and politics with regard to the Middle East and the United States.

Mr. D'Souza has been called one of the "top young public-policy makers in the country" and is one of the nation's most popular and acclaimed speakers for business and university audiences.  In 1995, D'Souza published The End of Racism which quickly became one of the most controversial books of the time and a national bestseller. The World Affairs Council lists him as one of the nation's 500 leading authorities on international issues and Newsweek cited him as one of the country's most prominent Asian Americans.

Mr. D'Souza, formerly a senior domestic policy analyst in the Reagan White House, is the author of six books on a variety of topics that range from multiculturalism to patriotism. His books have had a major influence on public opinion and public policy. His two most recent books are the New York Times bestseller What's So Great About America and Letters to a Young Conservative. Mr. D'Souza's visit to Santa Catalina was made possible through the generosity of Mr. and Mrs. Walter Hussman.
