Outdoor festival celebrates community with local wineries, cuisine, musicians, and artisans

CARMEL, Calif. - June 6, 2006 - The Barnyard Shopping Village will host its 17th Annual Art & Wine Festival on Saturday, June 17 from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m.  Visitors will have the opportunity to enjoy the newly unveiled property makeover, stroll through the gardens, visit with local artisans and pair local wine with cuisine from six of the Barnyard's restaurants. The event will include big-band music, a $100 drawing for a Barnyard dining gift certificate, and a Carmel Chamber of Commerce ribbon-cutting ceremony to celebrate the Barnyard's renovations and community presence.

WHAT:   
17th Annual Art & Wine Festival, featuring Barnyard artisans and 15 Monterey County vintners. Complementing the delicious wines will be the superb world cuisine of the Barnyard's restaurants and cafes.

In addition, a silent auction will be held where participants may bid on items donated by participating wineries, artists, and Barnyard merchants. All proceeds from the silent auction will benefit the YWCA Lawson House.
