Barnyard Shopping Village Hosts 16th Annual Art & Wine Festival
Carmel, Calif. - June 9, 2005 - The Barnyard Shopping Village will host its 16th annual Art & Wine Festival on Saturday, June 18 from 2 to 5 p.m. The festival is hosted by Barnyard restaurants and local artists and will feature wine tasting and live entertainment. For the past 15 years, the festival has grown to become a summer favorite on the Peninsula.
This year, the Art & Wine Festival will feature several local artists, 15 Monterey County wineries and live music. In addition, a silent auction will be held where participants may bid on items donated by participating wineries, artists and Barnyard merchants, with proceeds benefiting the Carmel Red Cross.
Tickets are $25 and include a wine glass for tasting, along with gourmet samples from Barnyard restaurants. Visiting wineries include, Bargetto, Bernardus, Blackstone, Chateau Julien, Galante, Hahn/Smith & Hook, J. Lohr Vineyards & Wines, Joullian, Paraiso, San Saba, Scheid, Silver Mountain, Southern Latitudes, Ventana and Wines of Carmel.
Complementing the delicious wines will be the superb world cuisine of Barnyard restaurants, including Allegro Gourmet Pizzeria, Bahama Billy's, Ling Chow, Lugano Swiss Bistro, Robata Grill and Sake Bar, Sherlock Holmes Pub & Restaurant, Carmel Valley Coffee Company and Piece of Heaven Chocolatier.
Featured artists, including 4 Barnyard artists, will be on hand to display and discuss their art, with some giving demonstrations of their medium. Keeping the festival lively will be the incredible voice of Lee Durley & the Easy Street Band performing the classic songs of the 30's, 40's, rock of the 50's and 60's and popular music with a contemporary flair.

The Barnyard Shopping Village, built in Carmel in 1976, is a landmark on the Monterey Peninsula, featuring 50 merchants ranging from boutique shops, restaurants, office spaces and art galleries. Owned by Capstone Morningside Chase, L.P. and managed by SIMA Corporation, the Barnyard hosts many open-air events in its courtyards and is a popular meeting place for the community.
