Barnyard Shopping Village Awarded ‘best Decorated Block’ in Carmel Chamber of Commerce ‘carmel Lights up the Season’ Decorating Contest
Carmel, Calif. - December 6, 2005 - The Barnyard Shopping Village won First Prize for "Best Decorated Block" in the 2005 "Carmel Lights Up the Season Decorating Contest." Carmel-by-the-Sea and the Carmel Chamber of Commerce sponsored the event, asking local businesses to make Carmel a joyful experience for the Holiday Season by decorating storefronts and store interiors.
"The decorating contest was a great idea to provide extra incentive for business owners to create a holiday mood in Carmel," said Stephanie Scholderer, general manager of The Barnyard Shopping Village. "We decorated the Barnyard with twinkle lights and wrapped the railings and storefronts from end-to-end with holiday décor in efforts of creating a truly magnificent and magical shopping environment for our customers and guests."
Entries were judged the week of November 21 through November 25 and winners were announced at the Carmel Tree Lighting on December 2. The decorating contest also included the categories: "Keeping the Theme of the Season", "Most Creative", "Best Interior", and "Best Window or Entrance".
The Barnyard Shopping Village is extending evening holiday shopping hours until 7 p.m. through December 30, except on Christmas Eve. With a variety of unique and specialty shops, The Barnyard Shopping Village is the local's resource for fantastic holiday gift ideas such as: fine apparel, fashionable accessories, artwork for the home and garden, jewelry, toys, books, pampering salon services and delectable holiday treats.
