Castroville, Calif. - January 12, 2006 - Mog Cabatu, general manager, of Ausonio Incorporated was appointed to the Monterey County Housing Advisory Committee by Supervisor Lou Calcagno during the Board of Supervisors meeting held on January 10, 2006. Cabatu has been a member of Ausonio Incorporated for 26 years, serving as project manager on such well-known projects as the Harden Youth Boys & Girls Club, Ocean Mist office and cooling complex, the Uni-Kool office complex and the Salinas Valley Builders Exchange office building. Cabatu is President of the Builders Service Association of Salinas Valley, member of the Castroville Rotary club and the City of Salinas Advisory Council, Past President of the Salinas Valley Builders Exchange and has volunteered throughout the community for organizations such as the Salinas Airshow and Palma High School.

The Monterey County Housing Advisory Committee is comprised of 12 members, two appointed from each Supervisorial District with two representatives from the public housing sector, each serving a two-year term. Committee members appointed by a Supervisor must reside in the district from which they were appointed. The Monterey County Housing Advisory Committee serves as an advisor to the Board of Supervisors and Planning Commission on issues concerning the Housing Element of the General Plan, Inclusionary Housing Ordinance, and other affordable housing programs. They are also responsible for providing recommendations on private housing programs and proposed grant and loan applications associated to specific housing projects.
