4th Annual Block Party Returns to Cannery Row June 3rd
MONTEREY, Calif. – May 21, 2007 — The Cannery Row Block Party is back Sunday, June 3, 2007 from 11am-5pm with lots of live and fun entertainment the entire family will enjoy! This year will mark the 4th anniversary of the event and will feature continuous, live music in Steinbeck Plaza by Jonah & the Whale Watchers, Red Beans & Rice, Five AM a rock band from San Francisco, and Zebop who will be performing a tribute to music legend, Santana.
Fun, family entertainment includes face painting, live animal shows on the Family Stage, magicians, appearances by Dora the Explorer and SpongeBob Squarepants and Willy's Smokehouse "Rib Eatin' Contest" featuring300 pounds of ribs for adult participants. In addition, guests will have the chance to win an All About Cannery Row Grand Award, a prize that includes a Cannery Row hotel stay, restaurants and entertainment gift certificates, and exclusive merchandise. The SPCA will also be on-site at the Block Party, offering pet adoptions to interested guests.

The 4th Annual Cannery Row Block Party will feature live music and children's entertainment including animal shows, magicians, clowns, face painting, appearances by Dora the Explorer and Sponge Bob Squarepants and pet adoption opportunities from the Monterey County SPCA. In addition, there will be a Dippin Dots Ice Cream "Taste Test" for kids under 12 and a Willy's Smokehouse "Rib Eatin' Contest" for adults only, featuring 300 pounds of ribs. Guests will also have the chance to win an All About Cannery Row Grand Award.
