The Bench is the Ultimate 19th Hole with a Fresh Perspective on a Legendary Setting at Pebble Beach Resorts
PEBBLE BEACH, Calif. (July 11, 2012) –The Bench, a new dining experience opening August 6 at Pebble Beach Resorts, honors the legacy and splendor of Pebble Beach. Overlooking the 18th hole at Pebble Beach Golf Links—named America's Greatest Public Golf Course by Golf Digest—and stunning Stillwater Cove, no restaurant is located in a more legendary, beautiful and historic setting. With an open-air atmosphere, casual environment and unparalleled views, The Bench is the perfect locale for the golfer's ultimate 19th hole.
"Golfers from all over the world expect a world-class experience when they come to Pebble Beach Resorts. From the first step onto the tee box to drinks and a meal after an unforgettable round, the 19th hole is as much a part of golf as the previous 18," said Pebble Beach Company Chief Executive Officer Bill Perocchi. "But The Bench goes well beyond the golf course. It's a place where anyone can enjoy friends, family, exciting cuisine and one of the greatest views in the world."
A panorama regarded as the quintessential Pebble Beach view, the perspective of golf's greatest finishing hole features a background of Point Lobos State Reserve and the signature white sand beaches of Carmel-by-the-Sea. The Bench is designed to feature the vista from every seat, welcoming guests to form their own postcard pictures in person.
Complimenting the legendary Tap Room at The Lodge, The Bench offers a new dining experience for golfers, families, couples and groups of friends alike. Wide-ranging food options and a casual atmosphere cater to special occasions, intimate dinners, informal lunches and everything in between. Chef de Cuisine Yousef Ghalaini delivers an eclectic menu inspired by international styles and methods, using the innovative technique of wood-roasting and open-flame cooking. Guests are also invited to enjoy one-of-a-kind craft cocktails, as well as an array of draft beers and wines by the glass.
The Bench symbolizes an iconic location overlooking the 18th hole where the current ownership group agreed to acquire Pebble Beach and preserve the national treasure for future generations. Commemorative plaques and a special area adjacent to the restaurant's outdoor patio will memorialize this event, allowing visitors from around the world to capture their own memories and to remember the history of Pebble Beach including its five U.S. Open Championships and more than six decades of the legendary AT&T Pebble Beach National Pro-Am.
The Bench will serve lunch and dinner daily. For more information, visit www.pebblebeach.com, or to make reservations, call (831) 625-8519.
