Shearwater Air Awarded ARGUS Gold Rating for Safety and Excellence
Shearwater Air is the only Monterey-based chartered jet company with prestigious ARGUS rating
MONTEREY, CALIF. – Shearwater Air, a jet charter and aircraft management company, announced today that it has received the ARGUS Gold Rating, the most sought after form of charter operator recognition in the aviation industry. Shearwater is the only Monterey-based jet charter company with this rating. ARGUS is the worldwide leader in safety audits for corporate flight departments, charter operators and commercial airlines.
Adhering to a strict application process, Shearwater provided data to ARGUS about its elegant Bombardier Challenger 300 aircraft as well as the pilots employed, which ARGUS evaluated for a Gold Rating. The Gold level is assigned to operators who meet or exceed the established ARGUS standards for safety history and crew experience.

Shearwater Air is also the only Monterey-based jet charter company with its Federal Aviation Administration Part 135 certificate, which allows Shearwater to provide air charter services to clients anywhere and anytime. This certification insures clients that company policies and procedures represent the highest standard in operating practices and safety. Shearwater Air will only fly aircraft under its management and only use pilots who are employees of the company.
