Santa Catalina School Presents "the Music Man" This Fall

WHO: Santa Catalina School Theatre Arts
WHAT: "The Music Man" by Meredith Willson
"The Music Man," winner of the Tony Award for best musical for 1957, is the story of Harold Hill, a con man who convinces parents he can turn their musically disinclined children into a band. Taking pre-paid orders for instruments and uniforms, he skips town and moves on to the next one before he's exposed. Arriving in fictional 1912 River City, Iowa, Hill finds his modus operandi compromised when he becomes attracted to the local librarian, who recognizes him for the fraud he is. The play was made into a major Hollywood film staring Robert Preston and Shirley Jones in 1962.
