Point Lobos State Reserve Hosts "community Day" October 6
Share the Beauty and History of Stunning Point Lobos

CARMEL, Calif. - September 13, 2007 - Point Lobos State Reserve welcomes one and all to the first-ever "Community Day" on Saturday, October 6, 2007. Courtesy shuttles will depart the Crossroads Shopping Village in Carmel every 10 minutes, bringing guests into the Reserve free of charge. Enjoy unprecedented access to Point Lobos, with 14 docent-led nature walks and activities for children.

WHAT: Point Lobos State Reserve Community Day
This unique day at one of the world's most dramatically beautiful coastal regions will feature an expanded docent program with 14 guided nature walks, spotting scope stations, activities for children, and poetry readings.* Community organizations will have information about their special programs on display in the Piney Woods picnic area. Kids can learn about the Junior Lifeguard Program and see the lifeguards' rescue boat docked at Whalers Cove.

WHERE: Point Lobos State Reserve - 3 miles south of Carmel on Highway 1
WHEN: Saturday, October 6, 2007
Beginning at 9:00 AM, free shuttles will depart every 10 minutes from the Crossroads Shopping Village at Highway 1 and Rio Road
COST: Admission is FREE to visitors using the shuttle service.
Limited vehicle parking: $8.00; vehicle with a senior citizen: $4.00; disabled discount: $3.00.
