Caribbean Food & Flare Flourish in Carmel

CARMEL, Calif. – April 9, 2007 The Barnyard Shopping Village in Carmel, California, welcomes Anthony and April Momo as the new owner-operators of Bahama Billy's Island Steakhouse.

The Momos hale from Denver, Colorado, where they owned and operated Cucina Colore, an award-winning contemporary Italian restaurant, opened in 1995. Anthony grew up in the restaurant industry and received formal training from the College of Culinary Arts at Johnson and Wales University. April has worked side by side with Anthony in their restaurant ventures, which, in addition to Cucina Colore, include Via Trattoria & Bar in downtown Denver.

The Momos' purchase of Bahama Billy's was the result of a four-year search for a restaurant in the Monterey Bay Area. "We're confident we found a great restaurant," said Anthony, "and with our background we can continue the success of Bahama Billy's."

The Momos plan to stick with Bahama Billy's Caribbean-influenced menu, emphasizing steaks, seafood, and specialties such as tropical rice bowls. They will also maintain the "island" atmosphere customers have grown to love.

Bahama Billy's features a full bar and heated patio dining. The restaurant is open daily for lunch and dinner and offers special-priced sunset dinners. For hours of operation, please visit www.bahamabillys.com or call (831) 626-0430. Bahama Billy's is available for personalized private parties.

Bahama Billy's is located in the Barnyard Shopping Village at 3690 The Barnyard in the Monterey Barn.
