Joel R. Panzer and Sandra Dimas Enjoy Promotion at Renowned Salinas Planning Consultants Firm
A Monterey County native, Sandra Dimas has a strong background in accounting and planning. Prior to joining MWPC LLC., she was a broker in the Insurance Industry. Currently an active student at both Hartnell College and California State University Monterey Bay, Dimas' core curriculum focuses on the California Environmental Quality Act (CEQA) and regional planning.
Joel R. Panzer's appreciation for history, architecture and historic preservation began from a young age during summer and winter breaks from college where he worked in the historic Georgetown section of D.C. in a restaurant reconstructed from a civil war foundry located on the C&O Canal.
Panzer began his career with the County of Monterey after earning his master's degree in Geography from the California State University of Chico. Panzer's various projects have included general plan updates, high end residential projects, golf courses and resort planning, including primary responsibility for the complex approvals at the 20,000 acre Santa Lucia Preserve project in Carmel Valley, consisting of a 300 lot subdivision, a golf course, and recreational and club dining facilities. He assisted with the Monterey Peninsula County Club's recent approvals and renovations and is currently working on numerous subdivision project approvals in Greenfield, Arroyo Seco, Salinas and other areas of the Salinas Valley.
Panzer, who plays an active role in the community volunteering for several organizations, resides in Salinas' historic Maple Park neighborhood with his lovely and engaging wife, Maureen Wruck. Panzer's volunteer activities include a variety of roles from securing land and entitlements for a community park and child care center to historic preservation activities, and a National Register of Historic Places nomination for a historic building.
Panzer is a 1992 Graduate of Leadership Monterey Peninsula, and is the Past President of the Community Housing and Improvement Systems Planning Association (CHISPA). He serves as President of, CHIMI, a non-profit corporation that manages low-income housing projects owned by CHISPA, and is a Carmel Preservation Foundation board member, Secretary/Treasurer of the Monterey County Architectural Heritage Association, a founding member of the Monterey County Architectural Historical Association, and the Vice President and founding member of the Rancho San Carlos Volunteer Firefighters, Inc.
