Holiday Treats Aren’t Just for Eating

Gingerbread Village a Site Worth Seeing this Holiday Season

December 16, 2008
Santa Cruz, Calif. - December 16, 2008 - This year, eight chefs at Chaminade Resort & Spa were inspired to create a holiday gingerbread village made entirely out of candies and treats. Thirty-two hours and 20 pounds of sugar later, the chefs had crafted a spectacular winter wonderland with lakes, mountains, bridges, cobble stone roads, trains and, of course, gingerbread houses.

What makes the gingerbread village so enchanting is the level of detail that adorns every part of the creation. From trees made of cinnamon sticks and green popcorn balls to the window display inside the gingerbread village bakery, the whimsical village invites fantasy and awe and a cheerful chef salute to the holiday season.

The village will be displayed until December 26th. Everyone is invited to come take a look at the gingerbread creation that will make you feel like a kid again. And, it's free. After all, tis' the season to be jolly.
